Leading Charities & Health Organisations Raise Concern Over Review of UK Obesity Strategy

Published:

Action on Salt & Action on Sugar have joined 70 health charities, medical organisations and health professionals in raising our concern over allegations that existing and forthcoming nutrition policies will be scrapped by Prime Minister Liz Truss and her Government.

These policies, which were already extensively reviewed and consulted on, and are supported by the public, health professionals, and even members of the food and drink industry themselves, have been put in place to tackle the country's obesity crisis.

Suggestions that abandoning them to cushion the blow of the cost of living crisis on the the population are unfounded - in fact there is no evidence that these measures negatively impact the cost of living.
